Environmental, Health& Safety and Security Manager

Reporting to: Managing Director, Ajay Sahni.

Job description / Responsibilities:-

Health & Safety:

  • Responsibility for the co-ordination of all occupational health and safety, applicable to the Ballymacarbry and Ballymount site.
  • Responsible for updating risk assessments and the safety statement.
  • Keep informed on developments in health & safety law.
  • Co-ordinate the health and safety committee meeting.
  • Procurement of First Aid and PPE supplies.
  • Accident/Incident Investigation.
  • Maintaining material register.
  • Implementing and updating emergency response procedures.
  • Co-ordinate manual handling training with the personnel and training executive.
  • Co-ordinate to update and add SOPs.

Environmental:

  • Waste Management.
  • Co-ordinate to update and add SOPs.
  • Preparing reports to the local authority, to demonstrate compliance with the Packaging and VOC Regulations.
  • To keep records / inventory of all hazardous waste generated at Ballymacarbry site.
  • Manage trade effluent transportation and disposal.

Security:

  • Responsible for conducting site security reviews.
  • Monitors and evaluates site performance on key security issues on programs, recommends corrective action programs where appropriate.
  • Makes security arrangements regarding the opening / closing hours of the site.
  • Maintains on-site security systems.

Qualifications:

  • Formal H&S qualification, minimum degree level.
  • Extensive knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
  • Knowledge of relevant environmental legislation.
  • Additional Skills which would be a distinct advantage: Trained VDU Assessor, Current Safe Pass Card, Manual Handling instructor.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work with all levels of staff, contractors or customers.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
  • Knowledge in use of SAP system advantageous.
