What is Modern Slavery ? —
Slavery and human trafficking remains a hidden blight across the world. We all have a responsibility to be alert to the risks, however small, in our business and in the wider supply chain.
At Pinewood Healthcare, we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains. Pinewood will not work with any suppliers who have demonstrably and repeatedly failed to comply with basic International Labour Organization (ILO) standards.
Our focus on slavery and human trafficking is part of a larger effort to encourage supply chain transparency and accountability. We will not tolerate forced, bonded (including debt bondage) or indentured labour, involuntary prison labour, slavery, or trafficking of persons (referred to in this statement as “Modern Slavery”) by any Pinewood Healthcare supplier or for any other purpose.
We also ensure transparency internally within Pinewood, by ensuring that all our employees are fully equipped to challenge anything which they believe goes against this ethos and, in turn, those who they raise their challenge with are required to act.
